Lenovo Laptop Setup & Data Migration
Description
My brand-new, still-sealed Lenovo needs to be ready for daily use in a single session. The old machine you’ll be pulling data from is a Windows laptop, so everything should transfer smoothly within the Microsoft ecosystem.
Here’s what I’d like done:
• Power-on and complete the initial Windows set-up, updates, drivers and Lenovo utilities. • Install and activate my Microsoft 365 subscription. • Configure several email accounts (mix of Outlook and IMAP) so they sync flawlessly in Outlook and the Windows Mail app. • Migrate Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge from the old laptop—bookmarks, saved passwords, history and preferred extensions included. • Copy over all remaining user data: Documents, Photos and any applications I still rely on. • Verify that each transferred program launches correctly and that personal files open without issue. I use Dropbox as my primary drive.
Once everything is in place I’d like a quick walkthrough so I know where the files landed and can confirm mail and browsers are syncing properly. Remote or on-site work is fine as long as the job is finished efficiently and with minimal downtime for me.
