Stock Controller / Storekeeper

Department : Warehousing Reporting to : Manager / Cashier Location : Mpigi Overall Purpose To eliminate shrinkage (theft/loss) and maintain a real-time, accurate pulse on inventory value through rigorous auditing and warehouse organization. Key Responsibilities Inventory Management Conduct daily & blind counts (counting stock without viewing the ledger) to ensure absolute accuracy and honesty. Maintain a First-In, First-Out (FIFO) system to prevent expiry and spoilage. Update inventory records immediately upon receipt of goods from suppliers and dispatch to vehicles. Loading & Dispatch Supervision Physically verify every truck and tuk-tuk load against the invoice before the vehicle exits the gate. Ensure all goods leaving the warehouse have the correct accompanying documentation. Loss Prevention Monitor the & breakage area to verify the cause of breakages (e.g., negligence vs. accidental) and implement corrective measures. Secure the warehouse perimeter and control access to stock. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Accuracy: Zero variance between physical stock and ledger. Availability: Zero stock-outs of core products (e.g., Coca-Cola 500ml). Efficiency: Loading accuracy rate of 100%.
