Temporary Accounts Payable Assistant

We are seeking a proactive and organised Accounts Payable Assistant to join a leading global law firm on a temporary basis for up to one year. This role supports the smooth running of the Accounts Payable function, ensuring accurate processing, timely payments, and excellent internal and external service delivery.

You will work closely with colleagues across finance, legal teams, and international offices, contributing to the firms financial accuracy and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Process invoices and employee expenses, ensuring correct coding, VAT/tax compliance, and adherence to firm policies
• Respond to internal and external AP queries, providing efficient and professional support
• Assist with regular payment runs, including preparing supporting documentation for approval
• Enter invoices into the finance system and process manual cheque or bank transfer requests
• Liaise with high volume suppliers and support e-invoicing workflows
• Resolve invoice discrepancies by communicating with internal teams
• Maintain accurate vendor records, including new supplier setup and verification checks
• Support the billing team with unposted disbursements to ensure timely client billing
• Ensure expenses and invoices are accurately reflected in the general ledger

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience in an Accounts Payable in a law firm
• Familiarity with finance system Aderant
• Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel
