Overview
An acute NHS Trust in London is seeking an experienced Interim Strategic Programme Lead (Band 8c) to support the delivery of its organisational strategy. This is a pivotal role requiring a highly capable individual who can bridge the gap between strategy and execution—translating high-level plans into clear, actionable programmes of work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of strategic programmes aligned to the Trust’s organisational objectives
- Translate strategic priorities into structured, actionable delivery plans
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to shape, refine, and mobilise key initiatives
- Produce high-quality written materials including strategic documents, business cases, and reports
- Develop compelling slide decks and presentations for executive and board-level audiences
- Ensure robust programme governance, tracking, and reporting mechanisms are in place
- Support embedding of strategic initiatives across operational teams
Key Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience operating at Band 8c level (or equivalent) within the NHS
- Proven track record of delivering complex strategic programmes within an acute trust setting
- Strong ability to translate strategy into delivery
- turning concepts into practical, executable plans
- Excellent written communication skills, including drafting formal documents and reports
- Advanced PowerPoint / slide deck development skills, with experience presenting to senior stakeholders
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including at executive level
- Ability to work at pace in a complex, evolving environment
