Nutrition Coordinator

Description

The Nutrition Coordinator will provide overall technical leadership, managerial support, and oversight to all nutrition-related projects in the field office. The Nutrition Coordinator is responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring, and quality assurance of nutrition interventions, including CMAM (Community Management of Acute Malnutrition), IYCF (Infant and Young Child Feeding), nutrition-sensitive programming, and integration with health, WASH, child protection, and food security sectors. He/she will work closely with the program implementation team to ensure high-quality delivery in communities, camps, health facilities, and schools. The role includes representing EYN Projects in Nutrition Sector coordination meetings, technical working groups, and with partners and donors. The Nutrition Coordinator will cover all locations of the Project. Reports to: Program Manager MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: The Nutrition Coordinator’s primary responsibilities include the following: Lead and ensure on-the-job training and capacity building of the nutrition team, community volunteers, and health workers on global nutrition standards, CMAM/IMAM protocols, IYCF-E, and nutrition best practices (both preventive and curative); Conduct timely and spot monitoring visits to project sites to support field staff and ensure nutrition activities are implemented according to the detailed implementation plan, protocols, and minimum standards; Identify key gaps in nutrition services and facilities; provide technical oversight on screening, treatment, referral, and promotion aspects; proactively promote high-quality nutrition technical approaches; Ensure gender, protection, disability, and age considerations are mainstreamed throughout the nutrition project cycle, with women and caregivers enabled to influence decision-making around nutrition challenges; Ensure strong linkages and integration of nutrition with other key sectors including health, WASH, child protection, MHPSS, and livelihoods; Provide technical inputs to the development of concept notes, proposals, nutrition strategy, detailed implementation plans, and master budgets; Lead or support nutrition assessments, surveys (e.g., SMART, KAP, coverage), and data analysis to inform program design and adjustments; Ensure all planned nutrition activities are implemented on time, to quality standards, and within budget as per the monthly/quarterly plan; Coordinate with logistics and procurement teams for technical evaluation of suppliers/bidders for nutrition commodities, RUTF/RUSF, equipment, and supplies; Supervise and monitor distribution, storage, and rational use of nutrition commodities to prevent stock-outs or misuse; Monitor and report on key nutrition issues, trends, security incidences, and contextual updates to the Program Manager and partners to support informed decision-making; Assist the Program Manager in internal and external communication, events, and advocacy on nutrition for increased awareness a
