Legal & Compliance Officer

Job Summary The Legal Officer is responsible for providing end-to-end legal support to the organization, including drafting and negotiating contracts, advising on legal and regulatory risks, supporting data protection and corporate governance activities, managing external counsel, and assisting with dispute resolution. The role also involves contributing to policy development and ensuring overall compliance with applicable laws and internal standards. Job Duties & Responsibilities Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including NDAs, Service Level Agreements, vendor/supplier contracts, and Data Processing Agreements (DPAs). Provide legal advisory support to business teams by identifying and mitigating risks in contracts and proposed commercial arrangements. Develop, maintain, and continuously improve contract templates, policies, and playbooks to ensure consistency and efficiency. Support data protection initiatives, including conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. Assist with corporate governance matters, including preparing board resolutions, powers of attorney, and maintaining statutory registers. Manage external legal counsel where required and monitor legal costs to ensure effective budget control. Support litigation, dispute resolution, and pre-litigation matters, while contributing to policy development and compliance advisory projects in collaboration with the Compliance team. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law or related disciplines. Relevant work experience: 1-3 years of experience in product management role.
