A distinguished opportunity has arisen for a Legal Counsel to join a highly esteemed organisation for a fixed-term contract of 10 to 12 months in Geneva.

Legal Counsel

Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive legal counsel to senior leadership and across multiple juridictions, ensuring scrupulous adherence to all pertinent laws and regulations.

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts as well as other legal instruments to safeguard the organisation's interests whilst cultivating constructive relationships with partners and stakeholders.

Support internal teams by elucidating complex legal issues in clear, accessible terms, thereby enabling informed decision-making throughout the organisation.

Monitor legislative developments and regulatory changes relevant to the organisation's undertakings, proactively advising on requisite adjustments or risk mitigation strategies.

Collaborate closely with external counsel when necessary, managing these relationships to ensure exemplary service delivery and prudent cost management.

Assist in formulating internal policies and procedures that foster compliance, ethical conduct, and best practices across the organisation.

Participate in cross-functional projects as a trusted advisor, imparting legal insight that advances organisational aims and encourages interdepartmental cooperation.

Address disputes or potential litigation matters with discretion and professionalism, striving for resolutions that are consonant with both legal obligations and organisational values.

Requirements:

Law degree accompanied by admission to practise law in Switzerland or another relevant jurisdiction is essential for this appointment.

Demonstrable experience serving as Legal Counsel or in a comparable capacity within a corporate or commercial context is highly desirable.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and French.

Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex contractual arrangements with meticulous attention to detail whilst maintaining positive stakeholder relations.

Comprehensive understanding of Swiss law as well as international regulations pertinent to cross-border transactions or multinational entities.

A collaborative disposition complemented by exemplary interpersonal skills enabling you to cultivate trust-based relationships at all levels within the organisation.

Sound judgement coupled with the capacity to analyse complex scenarios sensitively and provide pragmatic solutions aligned with organisational imperatives.
