Cloud DBA - PostgreSQL Context: Enablement and Architecture: • Training of deliverers on the correct use of a customer database • Definition, enforcement, and regular review of best practices • Design, maintenance, and further development of central DBA and operations documentation • Creation of sizing, scaling, and architecture recommendations • Ensuring cost-efficient operation • Presentation of new developments • Technical sparring partner for architecture decisions • Consulting during audits and security reviews R&D: • Development and maintenance of all relevant platform modules and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., provisioning, VM restore, authentication via managed identities) • Design and further development of central technical concepts (e.g., role and authorization models) • Standardization of existing instances • Setup and continuous improvement of monitoring, alerting, and dashboards • Evaluation of new releases and features • Development and maintenance of SLA monitors Regulatory: • Ensuring and documenting a functioning backup and restore concept (including PITR, regular Restore tests) • Definition and testing of disaster recovery scenarios • Implementation of regulatory requirements (e.g., Risk2Value, test concepts, documentation of compliance) Troubleshooting: • Proactive monitoring of the PostgreSQL platform (dashboards, alerts) • Analysis and resolution of performance and stability issues Migrations: • Consulting on on-premises to cloud migrations • Planning, coordination, and support Skills: - Mandatory: PostgreSQL - Mandatory: Database administration - Mandatory: Data migration (database migration) - Mandatory: Azure - Database design (physical data model) - Continuous delivery - Continuous integration - Configuration management system/Configuration management database (CMS/CMDB) - Azure Databases - Azure DevOps
