Medium-Detail PLA Prototype Design
Description
Budget: $15 - $25/hr
I’m ready to move an early-stage concept into a printable form. The goal is a clean, dimensionally accurate 3D model that I can run on my FDM printer using PLA. Surface finish doesn’t need to rival injection-mold quality, but details such as mounting holes, mating edges, and snap-fits must be precise enough for fit-and-function checks once the part comes off the printer.
You’ll start from hand sketches and basic dimensions I’ll supply, refine the geometry, confirm wall thicknesses suitable for PLA, and add any necessary draft or fillets to keep the print reliable. I’m happy to review screenshots or low-res renders along the way, then sign off on the final geometry before you export production files.
Deliverables: • Editable source file in your native CAD package (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar) • Print-ready STL tuned for 0.2 mm layer height, PLA material • A short note listing recommended print settings (infill %, supports, orientation)
A quick turnaround is ideal; accuracy and clear communication are more important than fancy renders. If this first prototype goes smoothly, there will be follow-up iterations as the design evolves.
