Parametric Twisting Ribbon Simulation

Deadline: 2026-04-07
Project-Based

Description

Budget: €30 - €250

I’m deg a sort of fabric made of stitched ribbons that twists and intersect in a controlled way. I need a Grasshopper definition that simulates the behavior of real ribbons(thin plastic or textile) using Kangaroo so I can explore different versions of pitch and intersection angles. Please set up a clean.gh file that:

• Drives the ribbon geometry, intersections and applies the twist in Kangaroo • Exposes intuitive sliders for:

  • Ribbon width
  • Intersection angle
  • Distance between successive intersections (the “stitching” points)
  • Pitch
  • Flexibility of the ribbon fabric

Keep the components grouped and labelled so a beginner can trace the logic, and use only standard Grasshopper + Kangaroo elements (no obscure add-ins unless they are open-source and you include links).

Attached you can see an example of weaving logic.

I’ll consider the job done once I can open the file, move the three sliders, and watch the ribbon update smoothly without solver errors or broken topology.
