Tesla EDR Forensic Analysis
Description
Budget: $250 - $750
I have direct access to a Tesla involved in a traffic dispute and need the electronic data recorder data interpreted. May have the full EDR report but need reviewed both the steering-wheel angle trace and the yaw-rate trace for the five-second interval in question. I want a concise descriptive-statistics case study that demonstrates—numerically and graphically—why the car could not have remained inside a dedicated 200-ft-long, 12-ft-wide turn lane bordered by 6-inch curbs for the entire period. The goal is to use these results to show that the police diagram is inaccurate.
You will be responsible for: • analyzing the raw EDR data from the Tesla. • Cleaning and time-synchronising the steering-angle and yaw-rate channels. • Generating descriptive measures (min/max, mean, standard deviation, range) and overlay plots that clearly illustrate vehicle path behaviour. • Translating those findings into a short, courtroom-ready narrative that highlights the physical impossibility of the claimed path.
Any common forensic or data-science toolkit—i.e., Bosch CDR, Tesla PyEDR, MATLAB, Python/pandas/matplotlib—is acceptable, provided the final deliverables include:
- The raw CSV or JSON export.
- Reproducible analysis scripts.
- A brief written report (PDF) with charts suitable for legal submission.
If additional context (GPS logs, speed, or timestamp alignment) strengthens the argument, please flag it so I can supply what you need.
