Home Depot Sales and Inventory Reporting
Description
Budget: $25 - $50/hr
I need a detail-oriented analyst who can take full ownership of our Home Depot reporting cycle. Each week you will turn raw point-of-sale and stock files into clear, decision-ready Excel workbooks that track both sales performance and current inventory.
Here’s what the job looks like from my side: every Friday evening the data drops from the Home Depot vendor portal; by Monday 9 a.m. ET I want a refreshed workbook that cleans the data, updates pivots and charts, flags top and bottom performers, and calls out any out-of-stock or overstock risks. The existing template is basic, so part of your first deliverable will be to tighten formulas, introduce Power Query or macro automation where it makes sense, and add a concise executive summary tab.
I prefer Excel for now because the wider team already works in it, but if you can later translate the same logic to Tableau or Power BI I’m open to that discussion. For the moment, though, everything must run smoothly inside Excel without external add-ins.
Deliverables each week • Updated sales & inventory workbook (Excel) with refreshed data, intact formulas, and saved in our shared OneDrive folder • One-page summary outlining key shifts, risks, and immediate actions
Accuracy, clear formatting, and on-time delivery are the acceptance criteria. As the relationship grows we may add customer feedback or promotional lift analyses, but the core focus will remain weekly sales and inventory reporting for the Home Depot channel.
