YouTube Video Editor for Long-Term Partnership
Description
Budget: $30 - $250
Long-Term Video Editor Wanted — approx. 2-4 Videos/Week, Faceless YouTube Channel
This is not a one-off gig. I'm building a German-language faceless YouTube channel and I need one editor who wants to do this project with me — from the visual identity to a full on channel.
2-4 videos per week, consistent style, growing channel. This first video is a paid test to find the right person. If the quality, inspiration, talent and touch of genius is right, we will work well together, you become the editor of this channel. Ongoing, consistent, long-term.

WHO'S HIRING
I run ProtoKinetic GmbH — a Berlin-based production company that builds custom vehicles, sets, and installations for reputable clients like Samsung, Google, Red Bull, Disney, and Deutsche Telekom. We've been working with freelancers and craftspeople for over a decade.
Our freelancers stay with us. Because we pay them right, we pay on time, we respect your craft, and we don't micromanage talent. Check our reviews — we believe the best work comes from people who feel valued, not pressured.
I bring that same philosophy to this project.

THE CHANNEL
"Im Besten Alter" — a health and life magazine for the 60+ audience. Documentary-style: real science, emotional storytelling, respectful tone.
This is NOT a typical faceless YouTube video. The audience is 60+. They are intelligent, experienced, and they will leave in 3 seconds if the editing feels cheap or disrespectful.
Think of the visual language of: • warm, little playful, intimate • A well-made health documentary on ARTE or ZDF • Apple product films — clean, intentional, every frame earned
The editing must breathe. Silence is a tool. A 2-second pause on a powerful sentence is worth more than 10 transitions.

FIRST VIDEO
"Harvard-Studie schockt: Einsamkeit nach 60 ist tödlicher als 15 Zigaretten am Tag" (~10:30 min)
Topic: Loneliness as a measurable medical risk factor for seniors — heart disease, immune system decline, cognitive decay. Backed by peer-reviewed studies from Brigham Young University, the German Federal Health Bulletin, and the Amsterdam Ageing Study.
Emotional arc: alarm → outrage ("why doesn't your doctor ask XXXX XXXX?") → hope → empowerment ("you can fix this — starting today").
What you'll receive from me: • Complete voiceover script with timecodes, music cues, and visual direction for every section • AI-generated voiceover track (ElevenLabs, German, male) • Branding guidelines (color palette, fonts, logo, thumbnail concept) • Full creative brief with tone, pacing, and emotional arc mapped out
What I need from you:
Your Signature Style that will base the channels quality
• Source and select all B-roll footage (stock + AI-generated visuals welcome) • Medical/scientific motion graphics — heart animation, brain neurons, immune cells, data visualizations • Smooth transitions that serve the story, not distract from it • Subtle sound design layer (ambient textures, not generic SFX packs) • Color grading that follows the emotional arc: warm tones for hope, cooler/desaturated for medical warnings • 2 mid-roll ad break integrations with natural cliffhanger pacing • Lower thirds, text overlays, and chapter markers • Final delivery: 1080p or 4K, YouTube-optimized export

WHO I'M LOOKING FOR
You are not just an editor. You are a visual storyteller.
• You have a portfolio that makes me stop scrolling • You understand pacing — when to push, when to pull back, when to let a moment land • You can work with a script that has emotional dynamics (tension → outrage → relief → intimacy) • You have experience with documentary-style or educational content • Motion graphics and data visualization are part of your toolkit — not something you'll "figure out" • You take direction well but also push back when you have a better idea • You deliver on time. Every time.
Bonus: • Experience editing German-language content • Experience with health/medical or senior audiences • Familiarity with YouTube retention optimization (hook pacing, pattern interrupts)

What you need to think about.
- Your portfolio or 3 examples of your best work (YouTube edits preferred)
- A short note in your quote on what you'd do visually with a topic like "loneliness kills — here's the science" — what mood, what style, what would make this feel cinematic rather than clinical?
- Your rate for a ~10:30 min video with the scope described above
- Your typical turnaround time
I read every application personally. I'm looking for the right person. Someone who reads this and thinks: "This is the kind of work I want to do."
