The position is home-based in Addis Ababa, with occasional in-country travel, as required  Required Number - 1 About the Organization - UMA CONSULT PLC  is operational research, applied short term training, and technical assistance providing firm working with microfinance institutions, financial institutions, and development and humanitarian partners in Ethiopia and beyond. The organization delivers evidence-based solutions, capacity building, and technical advisory services aligned with national and international development agendas. Position Summary- The Administrative Assistant/Accountant will support effective financial management, administrative systems, and operational processes in line with various clients and organizational policies. The position holder is expected to contribute to sound financial reporting, compliance, procurement, HR, documentation, and digital technology support to ensure efficient and accountable operation of the firm. Key Responsibilities Finance and Compliance Maintain accurate financial records, including accounting entries, bank reconciliations, and organizing supporting documents Process accounts payable and receivable in accordance with organizational and other clients’ requirements Assist in budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis Prepare financial reports and support audits and tax compliance (e.g., External Auditors, Ministry of Revenue/MoR tax compliance matters) Administration and Operations Provide day-to-day office and administrative support Support procurement, contract follow-up, and supplier coordination in line with internal guidelines Assist with logistics for training, workshops, meetings, and travel arrangements Support HR administration, including payroll assistance and staff records management Documentation, Digital and Knowledge Management Maintain organized filing systems (physical and digital) Support reporting, documentation, and knowledge management processes Provide basic IT, digital, and graphics design support (PPTs, simple info graphics) for consultants, researchers, trainers Desirable Competencies Knowledge of IFRS, MoR compliance requirements Digital skills (graphics design, digital tools, SPSS, STATA, SMART office management- effective use of digital tools, streamlined processes, and data-driven practices) Research, documentation, and knowledge management skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Experience in working with consultancy firms, training institutes, NGOs, or donor-funded projects Remuneration -  Salary and benefits will be in line with organizational scale and proportionate with qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
