Responsibilities & Duties Develop and improve animal breeding programs. Ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations and standards. Collaborate with veterinarians, farm managers, and other agricultural professionals. Monitor and evaluate livestock production systems. Advise farmers and industry stakeholders on best practices for animal care. Develop and test new animal feed and dietary supplements. Investigate effects of environmental conditions on animal health. Provide training and support to farm workers and animal caretakers. Implement and manage biosecurity measures to prevent disease outbreaks. Conduct routine health assessments, diagnose, and treat illnesses or injuries in poultry. Develop and implement disease prevention programs. Advise on proper nutrition, feeding practices, housing, and environmental management. Conduct necropsies to determine causes of death. Administer vaccines and medications as needed.
