Import Manager

Daye Bensa Business PLC, a leading specialty coffee exporter in Ethiopia, is seeking an experienced Import Manager to lead our import operations. The role focuses on strategic sourcing of goods and materials, efficient customs clearance, cost optimization, and smooth supply chain management to support our growing business. Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end import processes, including sourcing, ordering, shipping, and logistics coordination. Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts with suppliers. Handle customs clearing procedures, documentation (C&F, Bill of Lading, invoices, permits, etc.), and ensure timely clearance with Ethiopian Customs. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, freight forwarders, clearing agents, and government authorities. Monitor import costs, negotiate better rates, and implement cost-saving initiatives. Lead the import team, provide guidance, set targets, and ensure high performance. Support local sales activities of imported goods when required and coordinate with the sales team. Ensure full compliance with Ethiopian import regulations, tax laws, and company policies. Prepare monthly import reports (cost analysis, supplier performance, clearance status, etc.) and submit to senior management. Identify risks in the supply chain and proactively implement mitigation measures.
