A lower‑middle‑market Software Growth Equity firm in the Washington, D.C. area is seeking to add a Vice President to its lean but growing investment team. The firm is relatively new to the market but has completed several strong investments early in its lifecycle and continues to build momentum. This individual will play a hands‑on role across the full deal process, from sourcing and diligence through execution and portfolio support. Responsibilities • Participate across the full investment lifecycle, including sourcing, screening, diligence, deal execution, and post‑investment portfolio support • Lead and manage financial modeling, valuation analysis, and investment committee materials • Coordinate and drive third‑party diligence efforts (commercial, technical, legal, accounting, etc.) • Work closely with management teams and board members to support strategic initiatives, growth planning, and operational execution • Assist with sourcing initiatives, including building relationships with founders, intermediaries, and industry executives • Support portfolio monitoring, reporting, and follow‑on investment analysis • Contribute to the development of firm‑wide investment theses and sector perspectives within software and technology‑enabled businesses Requirements • 6+ years of relevant experience in Growth Equity, Private Equity, Venture Capital, Investment Banking, or related investing roles • Strong background investing in or advising software and technology‑enabled businesses, preferably within the lower‑middle market • Demonstrated ability to independently run diligence workstreams and manage deal processes • Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to investment committees and senior stakeholders • Highly motivated, self‑starter mentality with the ability to thrive in a lean, entrepreneurial environment • Interest in a long‑term, career‑track role with meaningful responsibility and upside
