Are you an AML Expert ready to navigate the frontier of digital finance in Latvia? We are expanding and seeking professionals familiar with the Latvian regulatory landscape. We operate at the cutting edge of technology, delving deeply into the dynamic world of cryptocurrency and MiCA regulations. We are looking for an Anti-Money Laundering Officer (MLRO) to act as the strategic bridge between our innovative fintech hub and the Latvian authorities. You will serve as the face and voice of our organization, managing relationships with the Bank of Latvia (Latvijas Banka) and the Financial Intelligence Unit (FID), handling reports and transaction monitoring, while actively supporting our local MiCA legislation and AML implementation process in collaboration with our teams. We would like to hear from you if: You have a proven track record as an AML Officer/MLRO within a regulated sector (Fintech, Banking, or Crypto) and have hands-on experience submitting reports to a regulator. You are intimately familiar with the Latvian regulatory landscape, including deep knowledge of the Law on the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorism and Proliferation Financing, CASP requirements, and Bank of Latvia (Latvijas Banka) standards. You navigate the Bank of Latvia and regulator environment with confidence, acting as the official person responsible for supervision and communication. You currently reside in Latvia, as your physical presence is a practical necessity for carrying out duties and engaging with the regulator — sometimes you will need to meet in Riga with the authorities or our team. You have a minimum C1 level of Latvian, allowing you to interpret local legislation (maintained in Latvian) and "spar" effectively with regulators, while your English is fluent for internal collaboration. You have a clean criminal record and a high sense of personal responsibility — essential in a role that handles the safety of a global fintech hub. You thrive in high-paced environments, where MiCA and local Latvian regulations meet, and you aren't afraid to take the lead in defining industry standards. Our compensation is straightforward and tied to our licensing progress: g Bonus: A one-time fee of €3,000, paid immediately upon g the agreement. Pre-Licensing Phase: €40/hour for tasks required during the application process. (Note: The exact workload is difficult to estimate at this stage, and the number of hours may be relatively low. Post-Licensing Phase: Once the authorization is granted, we will transition to a standard employment contract with a fixed salary between 2000€ and 4000€ We value both solid processes and the ability to handle exceptions.
