Role Profile

The Graduate Researcher role is the entry point to Infospectrum’s 12-month Graduate Programme and is designed to develop high-potential graduates into skilled counterparty risk and intelligence professionals.

As a Graduate Researcher, you will support senior analysts, specialist researchers, and operational teams by conducting structured research, gathering intelligence, and contributing to the production of counterparty risk assessments and related analytical outputs. The role provides broad exposure to our methodologies, tools, and markets, with increasing responsibility over time.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Intelligence Support

  • Assist analysts and researchers in mapping company ownership structures, operational footprints, and market activity.
  • Support the collection, validation, and organisation of qualitative and quantitative information used across reports, datasets, and internal research outputs.
  • Contribute to sanctions, compliance, and background checks in line with internal methodologies and quality standards.

Analytical & Operational Support

  • Support analysts, researchers, and specialist teams, including Administration Customer Excellence (ACE), in the preparation of reports, datasets, and customer deliverables.
  • Assist with interview preparation, background research, and follow-up tasks linked to management or market source discussions.
  • Develop familiarity with internal systems, workflows, and editorial standards, with a strong focus on accuracy, consistency, and data quality.

Learning, Development & Collaboration

  • Actively participate in structured training, coaching, and on-the-job learning throughout the programme.
  • Build a strong understanding of counterparty risk concepts, maritime markets, and Infospectrum’s analytical frameworks.
  • Collaborate with analysts, researchers, and cross functional stakeholders across regions and teams.
  • Demonstrate increasing independence, judgement, and ownership as skills develop over time.

What We Are Looking For

Essential

  • A strong academic background, with a genuine interest in research, analysis, and investigative work.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and accurately.
  • An inquisitive and analytical mindset, with the ability to question, validate, and interpret information.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines in a structured environment.
  • A professional, collaborative attitude and a willingness to learn through feedback and coaching.

Desirable

  • An academic background in economics, finance, international relations, law, politics, or a related discipline.
