Interim Financial Controller

CMA Recruitment Group is working with a fast-paced, rapidly growing business in Poole, Dorset, who are looking for an Interim Financial Controller to join them for an initial 4 to 6 month period.

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a business at a pivotal stage of transformation, where you’ll work closely with the CFO to drive efficiencies, improve processes, and make a real, visible impact on the finance function.

Our client is looking for someone who can confidently lead change and deliver tangible improvements across the finance function.

What will the Interim Financial Controller role involve?

• Lead on finance projects, to implement processes controls across multiple entities to streamline and drive efficiencies
• Supporting the establishment of new entities, ensuring robust processes, reporting frameworks, and financial controls
• Collaborating with external professionals on tax, HMRC compliance, and group structuring considerations
• Enhancing finance systems, processes, and controls to support scalable growth and operational efficiency
• Providing expert guidance to the finance team during periods of change, fostering clarity, stability, and strategic direction
• Partnering with senior stakeholders to relay strategic planning and confidently communicating recommendations for proposed change

Suitable Candidate for the Interim Financial Controller vacancy:

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent experience), with a strong track record in finance transformation
• Demonstrated success operating within complex, multi-entity or group structures
• In-depth knowledge of restructuring, new entity setup, and group reporting, with solid tax and compliance awareness
• Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to lead teams through change with confidence and composure
• Strong project management skills, combining strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to driving operational improvements

Additional benefits and information for the role of Interim Financial Controller

• Available at short notice, ability to commit to the 4–6-month initial contract
• £300-£400 day rate depending on experience
• Office based
• Open to either 4 or 5 days a week working pattern
