Global Accounting Network is partnering with a dynamic, globally recognised law firm to recruit an Interim Financial Accountant for a 6–12 month contract based in Leeds. The Opportunity
As Interim Financial Accountant, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, strengthening controls, and supporting ongoing finance projects. This position offers broad exposure across reporting, audit, and process improvement in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts and maintain robust balance sheet controls.
- Take ownership of key month-end and year-end processes.
- Produce trial balances and statutory financial statements for UK and international entities.
- Support external audits (UK and global), ensuring timely and accurate data provision.
- Reconcile key accounts, including payroll and intercompany balances.
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
- Post and review monthly journals.
- Calculate and recharge shared overheads across group entities.
- Co-authorise payments in line with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and drive process improvements and efficiencies.
About You
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified, finalist or part-qualified.
- Proven experience in a financial accounting or management accounting role.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
- Highly analytical with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
- Confident Excel user and experience with finance systems.
- Adaptable, collaborative, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
