Guidance Adviser
- Annual Salary: £29,231 - £30,919.58 (inclusive of Outer London Weighting)
- Location: Outer London
- Job Type: Full-time, Term time only (36 hours per week)
We are seeking a dedicated Guidance Adviser to support our college students through the delivery of the college’s Guidance Curriculum. This role is crucial in providing comprehensive access to guidance services and contributing to the design of group activities and events. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing student achievement and responding effectively to student needs.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Deliver the college’s Guidance Curriculum through various activities such as 1-1 appointments, tutorials, UCAS support, assemblies, and short courses.
- Plan and organise activities effectively, ensuring a balanced schedule that includes time for individual student appointments.
- Assist students in preparing for post-college options, including university applications.
- Monitor the progress of students, responding to diverse needs and backgrounds, and ensuring all students understand the importance of guidance.
- Initiate support for new students to integrate and understand the guidance services from the start of the academic year.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in educational guidance or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of the needs of young people and the ability to provide support and advice.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to work empathetically and effectively with a diverse student body.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, including achieving professional accredited qualifications at levels 4
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to liaise with various educational departments and external institutions.

- Safeguard and promote the welfare of students, including completing required safeguarding training.
