About the Position: Kepler College is currently seeking a talented Counselor or a professional with relevant experience mainly from the education sector. His/her role will mainly focus on Coordinating student activities, support, and advise all students on a broad base of development milestones. The counselor will be organizing and facilitating workshops for the campus to foster the development of the members of the campus he or she will also be providing individual counseling to both students and staff members. Job Description Psychological and Emotional support to students and staff providing psychological support for anxiety, depression, stress, substance misuse, and relationship difficulties. Design and deliver psychoeducational programs, prevention initiatives, and mental health awareness activities. Clinical services: conduct assessment for new intake and develop a follow up plan; Provide individual and group counselling, including crisis intervention and suicide risk assessment. Keep records in a confidential manner for students and staff experiencing emotional, personal, psychological issues; Manage crisis situations such as mental health emergencies; Collaborate with the Campus Health services, Academic advisors, Student Guild committee, Students Affairs office regarding students at academic risks, etc. Develop and conduct new students’ advisory groups in collaboration with the Dean of Faculty office; Organize and conduct clinical supervision sessions for teaching staff; Create / reinforce a support system for Kepler Kiziba campus students & staff; Facilitate advisory groups and contribute to the development and strengthening of student support systems Develop and implement case management plans, including follow-up and referral to psychiatric or external services when required.
