Payroll Specialist

Are you an experienced Payroll Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment? We’re are working with a client based Cheshunt who are looking for an Interim Payroll specialist who can confidently own the full payroll life cycle from start to finish and keep everything running smoothly, accurately, and on time. This is a hands-on role for a payroll professional who enjoys responsibility, problem-solving, and working to tight deadlines.

What you’ll be doing

• Managing end-to-end payroll processing on a regular cycle collecting and validating payroll inputs including starters, leavers, salary changes, bonuses, overtime, and deductions
• Processing gross-to-net payroll calculations with a high level of accuracy
• Ensuring payroll deadlines are met in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Handling statutory payments, filings, and payroll compliance requirements
• Reconciling payroll reports and resolving discrepancies
• Supporting year-end payroll activities and audits
• Acting as the main point of contact for employee payroll queries

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience running full end-to-end payroll independently
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, tax, and statutory requirements
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume payroll environment
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure
• Strong systems experience and confident Excel skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines

Nice to have

• Payroll qualification or certification
• Experience with payroll system implementations or upgrades

On offer Day rate - £250 to £350 per day Length - Ongoing
