Tax Supervisor
Description
As a Tax Supervisor, you will support effective tax management and compliance across the organization, ensuring accurate computation, timely filing, and remittance of statutory obligations. You will play a key role in providing tax advisory on business transactions, managing tax accounting and reconciliations, and strengthening adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies. You’ll contribute to: Tax Advisory & Compliance: Analyse the tax aspects of agreements and business transactions, providing actionable guidance to management to ensure compliance and optimize tax outcomes. Accounting Coordination & Reconciliation: Collaborate with accounting units to ensure proper tax accounting, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain data integrity across statutory and internal records. Tax Provision & Filing: Manage tax provisions, prepare and submit returns including TDS, Sales Tax, Service Tax, Work Contract Tax, TCS, Income Tax, and Wealth Tax, and ensure timely remittance. Management Reporting: Develop MIS reports and dashboards to track the status of all taxrelated compliance, providing leadership with clear, data-driven insights. Risk & Governance Oversight: Identify and mitigate tax risks, ensure accurate calculations, and maintain compliance with Nigerian tax legislation and regulatory frameworks. Technical Competencies: Tax Compliance & Advisory Statutory Filings & Reporting (Income Tax, VAT, Withholding Tax, TDS/TCS, Wealth Tax) Tax Provisioning and Accounting Reconciliations Risk Assessment and Mitigation Strong IT systems knowledge, including ERP and tax management platforms Behavioral Competencies Customer Centricity: Provide timely and accurate tax advice, ensuring internal stakeholders’ compliance needs are met efficiently. Risk Management: Identify potential tax and regulatory risks, implement mitigation strategies, and maintain adherence to statutory requirements. People Leadership: Collaborate with accounting and finance teams, sharing knowledge and fostering accountability to ensure tax-related processes are executed effectively. Entrepreneurship: Innovate and optimize tax processes to create efficiencies and identify opportunities for tax savings. Organizational Learning: Stay updated on tax legislation, regulations, and best practices, promoting knowledge sharing across the team. Change Management: Implement new tax processes and regulatory updates smoothly, ensuring minimal disruption and compliance continuity. Minimum Requirement This opportunity is a Supervisory role. This role reports directly to the Tax Lead and provides oversight for tax compliance, advisory, and assurance activities across the organization.
