MEP Assurance Consultant (Building Systems Inspections Audit)

Role Overview We are seeking qualified engineers tsupport the delivery of independent technical inspections and assurance audits on a complex, multi-system commercial facility with high requirements for safety, reliability, and operational readiness. The role involves participation in the assessment of building services systems prior tcommissioning/operation, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and identifying deficiencies across key engineering systems. Candidates may have a core specialization in one discipline (Electrical, Mechanical/HVAC, or Plumbing), with working knowledge of other MEP systems. Key Responsibilities Participate in the inspection, testing, and assessment of building systems, including: Electrical systems (power, distribution, and low-voltage installations) Earthing and grounding systems HVAC systems (cooling, ventilation, air distribution) Plumbing and water systems Fire detection and fire protection systems Basic review of vertical transportation systems (elevators/lifts) Conduct site-based audits tverify: Installation quality System integrity and functionality Compliance with design specifications and applicable standards Support specialized inspections such as: Thermographic assessments Fire safety system reviews Equipment and system performance checks Identify defects, non-conformities, and potential operational risks Contribute tthe preparation of structured technical reports, including: Findings and observations Risk classification (critical/major/minor) Recommendations for remediation Interface with internal teams and, where applicable, external specialists supporting specific inspection scopes Candidate Profile Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline) Minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience in: MEP systems inspection Commissioning Technical audits or building services engineering Demonstrable strength in at least one core discipline: Electrical (including earthing and low voltage), OR Mechanical/HVAC, OR Plumbing systems Working knowledge of other MEP systems is required Familiarity with applicable standards such as: IEC / IEEE (electrical systems) ASHRAE (HVAC systems) NFPA (fire safety systems) Preferred Qualifications (Advantageous) COREN registration Infrared Thermography Certification (Level I or II) Experience in fire safety systems inspection Experience with commissioning or pre-operational readiness assessments Exposure thigh-occupancy or safety-critical facilities (e.g., commercial complexes, healthcare, hospitality, or similar environments) Key Competencies Strong analytical and inspection skills Attention tdetail and ability tidentify system deficiencies Practical understanding of building systems integration Ability twork on-site in a structured inspection environment Clear technical reporting and documentation skills
