Description
Key Responsibilities Perform a wide range of radiographic examinations, including general X-rays, fluoroscopy, contrast studies, multi-slice CT scans (including Cardiac CT and CT Angiography), mammography, and mobile radiography. Position patients accurately, explain procedures clearly, and provide reassurance to reduce anxiety, particularly for paediatric, geriatric, and trauma cases. Operate, calibrate, and maintain modern radiological equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and established protocols. Ensure strict adherence to radiation protection principles, including the use of lead aprons, gonad shields, collimation, and dose monitoring. Evaluate image quality, perform post-processing, and ensure images are correctly labelled, archived, and transmitted via PACS/RIS systems. Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver timely and accurate diagnostic support. Maintain accurate patient records, examination logs, and equipment service documentation. Participate in quality assurance programmes, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives. Train and supervise junior radiographers, interns, and students as required. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Radiography or Medical Imaging Science from a reputable and accredited institution. Full registration and a valid, current practising licence with the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN). Minimum of 5 years post-NYSC clinical experience in a hospital or diagnostic centre. Proven expertise in multi-slice CT (minimum 32-slice), Cardiac CT, CT Angiography, and the ability to work across multiple modalities including general radiography and MRI. Proficiency in modern radiological equipment and digital systems (PACS/RIS). Strong knowledge of radiation physics, anatomy, pathology, radiographic positioning, radiation protection principles, patient safety protocols, and current imaging standards. Calm under pressure, self-motivated, open-minded, and a strong team player with excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient-care skills. Academically inclined with a clear commitment to continuous professional development and alignment with organisational culture and values.
