Cost Accountant

Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our dynamic team and support effective cost management and financial performance across our operations. Key Responsibilities Analyze and monitor production costs, including raw materials, labor, and overheads Prepare cost reports and provide insights to support management decision-making Conduct variance analysis and investigate discrepancies between actual and standard costs Develop and maintain standard costing systems and cost control procedures Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes Monitor inventory valuation and ensure accuracy in stock records Collaborate with production and procurement teams to optimize cost efficiency Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls Maintain accurate financial records and documentation. Requirements Minimum of HND / B.Sc Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 4 - 5 years’ experience in cost accounting, preferably in FMCG or manufacturing Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and financial analysis Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel High level of accuracy and attention to detail Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills: Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage Experience with ERP systems Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
