About The Role The Chief Climate Finance Officer (CCFO) is responsible fordeg, structuring, and monetizing climate-linked revenue streams, with a strong focus onvoluntary carbon markets, plastic credits, and blended finance mechanisms. This role will translate KALTANI’s waste recovery, recycling, and circular economy activities into bankable climate assets, unlocking capital fromcarbon markets, DFIs, ESG investors, and global climate funds. The CCFO serves as the commercial bridge between sustainability outcomes and financial value creation. Key Responsibilities Carbon Markets Strategy & Monetization: Lead the development and execution of carbon credit strategies across waste, recycling, and waste-to-energy projects Structure and register projects under global standards (e.g.,Verra– VM0044, plastic waste reduction methodologies) Drive end-to-end carbon lifecycle: project design,validation,issuance,monetization. Climate Finance Structuring & Capital Raising: Design blended finance models combining equity, debt, grants, and carbon revenues Lead engagement withDFIs, climate funds, and ESG investors to secure funding Structure bankable climate investment cases aligned with global sustainability frameworks. Project Certification & Methodology Execution: Oversee development of Project Design Documents (PDDs) for carbon and plastic credit projects Ensure compliance withVerrastandards (VM0044) and Plastic Waste Reduction Standard (PWRS) Coordinate validation, verification, and issuance processes with third-party auditors Climate Revenue & Portfolio Management: Build and manage a diversified portfolio of carbon and environmental assets Optimize pricing strategies and negotiate offtake agreements with global buyers Track carbon issuance pipelines and revenue realization. Strategic Partnerships & Market Development Establish partnerships with carbon registries, aggregators, brokers, and ESG marketplaces Lead negotiations with international buyers (corporates, funds, sustainability programs) Position the company as a leading supplier of high-integrity African carbon credits. ESG Integration & Impact Monetization: Align climate finance strategy with broader ESG and sustainability goals Quantify environmental impact into measurable financial value Support integration of climate metrics into corporate reporting and investor communications Policy, Compliance & Market Intelligence: Monitor global carbon market trends, pricing, and regulatory changes Ensure compliance with international carbon standards and reporting frameworks Provide strategic insights on evolving climate finance opportunities Requirements Minimum10+ yearsin climate finance, carbon markets, or sustainability-linked investments Degree in Finance, Economics, Environmental Science, or related field MBA or relevant postgraduate degree is an advantage Certifications inClimate Finance / Carbon Accounting / ESG (GRI, CFA ESG, etc.)are a plus Proven experience withVoluntary Carbon Markets (VCM) H
