Description
The Role: Ensure accurate statutory compliance, audit support, cash management, support operational efficiency and seamless banking operations across African entities while maintaining strong regulatory and stakeholder relationships. Requirements What You'll Do: Ensure timely payment reconciliation to schedules of all statutory obligations and accurate submission of tax returns across African entities, including PAYE, ITF, NSITF, VAT, WHT, pension contributions, and installment taxes. Support the completion of statutory audits within agreed timelines by preparing detailed transactional schedules and providing required documentation for national and regional tax audits in Nigeria, as well as external audits across other African entities. Identify, investigate, and resolve processing gaps within banking platforms to ensure seamless execution of payroll, tax remittances, and other critical financial transactions. Provide on-the-ground urgent financial support to the operations team in Nigeria, facilitating time-sensitive cash disbursements and funding requirements. Collaborate closely with Shared Service Centre teams to drive collections from key local clients and support improvements in overall cash flow management. For the African entities, manage relationships with local finance stakeholders, including banks, tax authorities, regulators, and key vendors, ensuring smooth financial operations and ongoing regulatory compliance. Monitor cash positions and bank balances for liquidity management purposes, preparing short-term cash forecasts and escalating funding gaps where necessary for the African entities. Support the implementation and monitoring of internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements across African entities. Maintain proper documentation and structured filing of statutory, banking, and audit records to ensure readiness for regulatory reviews, internal audits, and compliance assessments across the African entities. High attention to detail, ability to prioritize and ability to work on own initiative. Well organised in a pressurised environment of changing priorities and deadlines. Effective team worker. Experience of working for a global business. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional qualification (or in progress), e.g. ICAN, ACCA, CPA. 2-4 years’ relevant experience in accounting of finance. Strong understanding of tax regulations.
