Accountant / Head of Operations

About the Role As Accountant/Head of Operations, you will oversee the company’s financial management, including financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and risk management. You will ensure operational efficiency, maintain strict regulatory compliance, and drive cost-effective resource allocation while leading a high-performing team. Key Responsibilities Lead financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and risk management Analyse performance and provide insights for strategic decisions Optimise operations, reduce costs, and enhance productivity Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance & operations team Ensure full regulatory compliance and timely statutory reporting Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (Essential) Professional certifications such as ICAN, ACCA, or CIBN (Desirable) Experience Minimum 5+ years in banking operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/leadership role Proven hands-on track record in financial planning, budgeting, financial reporting, operational strategy, process optimisation, and team leadership Skills & Competencies Strong technical proficiency in accounting software, core banking systems, data analytics platforms, and emerging technologies Deep knowledge of loan operations, investment operations, reconciliations, and accounting workflows Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a data-driven mindset Exceptional negotiation and stakeholder management abilities (FIRS, LIRS, banks, vendors) Demonstrated success in driving process improvements and customer-service efficiency If you are ready to drive financial stability and operational excellence in a dynamic environment, we’d love to hear from you!
