Description

Key Responsibilities Financial Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate financial records in line with accounting standards Prepare monthly, termly, and annual financial reports Monitor income and expenditure to ensure alignment with budget Support audit processes (internal and external) Fee Administration: Manage student billing and school fee collection processes Track outstanding fees and follow up on payments Reconcile fee payments with bank records Generate financial statements for parents upon request Budgeting & Planning: Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis Advise management on cost control and financial efficiency Payroll & Staff Payments: Process staff salaries, allowances, and statutory deductions Ensure compliance with tax regulations (PAYE, pensions, etc.) Maintain payroll records and resolve discrepancies Compliance & Controls: Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulatory requirements Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions Implement and monitor internal control systems Procurement & Expense Management: Review and process purchase requests and payments Ensure value for money in procurement activities Maintain vendor records and manage payments to suppliers Banking & Reconciliation: Manage bank transactions and cash flow Perform regular bank reconciliations Monitor cash handling procedures within the school Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage Minimum of 3–5 years accounting experience (school experience preferred) Strong knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel Good understanding of Nigerian tax and financial regulations
