You Will: Embody the SLPC’s equity, diversity and inclusion principles while interacting with staff and guests. Provide senior level financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and quantitative and qualitative analysis. Provide controllership expertise for the development, implementation, and ongoing update of financial models, reports, reconciliations, processes and procedures relating to all finance activities at the St. Lawrence Parks Commission (SLPC). Oversee controls and accounting of financial transactions and preparation of financial statements. Undertake a leadership role in providing professional level financial analysis advice to stakeholders. Beyond these core responsibilities, you will assist the Accounts Receivable team and perform other administrative duties as required. HOW DO I QUALIFY? Knowledge And Experience You have: Expert knowledge of theories, principles and practices of professional accounting acquired through training as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or enrollment in the program, together with progressively more responsible experience in the accounting field. Demonstrated experience with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and modern controllership practices and of financial decision-making processes, with specialized understanding of finance, auditing, planning, budgeting and forecasting to monitor agency financial transactions and processes. You Have: FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND ANALYTICAL SKILLS Strong financial management and analytical skills to: provide comprehensive analyses and advice on financial controllership policies and procedures; to review reports on major issues, analyze and identify anomalies and to determine whether business objectives are met; to provide practical financial advice to business unit managers regarding promotions, new product business opportunities, budgets and controls. Demonstrated ability working with activity-based costing, management reporting, performance analysis, statistical and financial analysis, quantitative techniques and budgetary planning processes and procurement practices. You Have: COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS Well-developed interpersonal, and communication skills to build and maintain relations with business unit managers and to convince internal stakeholders of the benefits to be gained by improving financial controls/procedures.
