Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical / Mechatronic) (m/f/d)

For our client we are looking for a Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical / Mechatronic) (m/f/d). Start: May 2026Duration: 6 months with the option of extensionWorkload: Fulltime (80-100 % depending on project phase)Location: 40 % in the great area of Cologne and 60 % international travelsLanguage: German and English Tasks:

1. Commissioning of industrial systems and equipment (mechanical and mechatronic focus)
2. Start-up and on-site commissioning of systems at international customer locations
3. Programming, troubleshooting, and optimization of Siemens S7 PLC control systems
4. Mechanical and electrical functional testing of equipment
5. Execution of site acceptance testing (SAT)
6. Coordination with engineering, assembly, and validation teams
7. Documentation of commissioning activities and compliance with industry standards
8. Support during qualification activities (performed in collaboration with validation teams)

Your Profile:

1. Degree or technical qualification as Engineer or Technician (Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field)
2. Solid experience in mechanical and mechatronic commissioning
3. Strong knowledge of Siemens S7 PLC systems
4. Experience in the Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, or Biopharmaceutical industry is highly desirable
5. Experience with FAT/SAT and system qualification processes
6. High willingness to travel internationally
7. Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style
8. Strong communication skills and ability to work in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams
9. Fluent English language skills and good German language skills
