Android Staff Workflow Automation App

Budget: ₹600 - ₹1500

I need a custom Android application that streamlines how our staff receive, complete, and hand off tasks. The focus is end-to-end workflow automation: once a job is triggered, the right employee should see it, act on it, and move it to the next stage without shuffling paperwork or messaging threads.

Secure sign-in is mandatory. Each user will have a role (for example: front-line staff, supervisor, admin) and the interface they see—along with the actions they can take—must respect those permissions at all times.

While this release is Android-only, I would like the architecture (API, database, auth layer) to stay platform-agnostic so an iOS front end can be added later without rework.

Key points

• Workflow engine: create, update, and advance tasks automatically based on rules I define (status changes, time triggers, or completion of prerequisites). • Real-time sync: task XXXX XXXX comments update instantly across devices, even on spotty connections. • Role-aware dashboards: each user lands on a screen showing exactly what is waiting for them, plus any alerts or escalations. • Audit trail: every change is logged for accountability and reporting.

Deliverables

1. Android app (Kotlin/Jetpack Compose or comparable modern stack) packaged for Google Play internal distribution.
2. Backend with REST or GraphQL endpoints, user authentication, and RBAC.
3. Basic admin panel or scripts to create roles, users, and workflow rules.
4. Source code in a private Git repo, a short setup guide, and deployment instructions for both the server and the mobile build.

Acceptance criteria

• A demo workflow—submitted, approved, completed—runs successfully end to end on two Android devices with different roles. • Unauthorized actions are blocked and logged. • Offline edits sync automatically once connectivity returns.
