Shopify Google Ads Tracking Repair

Budget: $30 - $250

My Shopify store is live but the Google Ads purchase conversions are not firing, so campaign performance data is unreliable. Google Tag Manager is not yet installed on the site, though I already have full access to a GTM container and the necessary Google Ads account.

Here’s what I expect from the engagement:

• Install and configure Google Tag Manager on the current Shopify theme without altering storefront functionality. • Re-create or import Google Ads conversion tags—purchase value, currency, and order ID must pass accurately. • Test events in GTM Preview, Google Ads Tag Assistant, and the Google Ads conversions diagnostics until a successful test purchase is recorded in the Google Ads dashboard.

Acceptance criteria A test order placed through Shopify triggers a single, non-duplicate Purchase conversion in Google Ads, showing the correct revenue amount within the same day.

You will have collaborator access to Shopify plus admin access to GTM and Google Ads as soon as we begin. Because I do not have an in-house developer, please plan to handle the entire setup, debugging, and verification independently and document any theme edits or snippets added so I can reference them later.
