Description

The Project Officer is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of integrated WASH, Health, and Nutrition interventions under the OCHA-funded EHF project in the targeted woredas. Working under the guidance of the Zonal EHF Project Coordinator and in close collaboration with relevant technical teams at the National Office and field levels, the officer ensures that project activities are implemented effectively, in line with approved project plans, donor requirements, and organizational standards. The officer facilitates the implementation of WASH, Health, and Nutrition activities by coordinating field operations, supporting assessments, and ensuring that interventions respond to the needs of conflict-affected and vulnerable communities. The role includes following up on project activities, supporting field supervision of construction and service delivery activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and contributing to the timely completion of planned outputs. The Project Officer works closely with Area Program teams, sectoral coordinators, and implementing partners to promote strong integration and coordination across sectors. The position also supports collaboration with government stakeholders at regional, zonal, and woreda levels, as well as humanitarian partners, to ensure alignment with national priorities and strengthen coordinated responses. In addition, the officer contributes to monitoring project progress, documenting results, preparing regular reports, and participating in coordination meetings and review platforms. Through these responsibilities, the Project Officer supports the effective, timely, and accountable delivery of integrated humanitarian services, helping improve access to water, sanitation, hygiene, health, and nutrition services for vulnerable populations in the targeted areas. Work Location: Somali Region Dig Woreda. The Project Officer oversees the planning, coordination, and implementation of integrated WASH, Health, and Nutrition activities at the woreda level. The officer ensures that project interventions, including key health and nutrition services such as CMAM/IMAM, IMNCI, and ANC/PNC, are delivered according to approved plans, timelines, and quality standards. The role also includes overseeing WASH-related activities, coordinating with technical teams and contractors, and ensuring effective implementation of construction and rehabilitation works. The officer works closely with government stakeholders, partners, and project teams to ensure integrated, responsive, and effective service delivery to vulnerable communities.. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting The officer is responsible for monitoring project activities, tracking performance against indicators, and ensuring timely and accurate data collection. He/she applies monitoring and evaluation tools in collaboration with MEAL teams, participates in WASH health and nutrition assessments, and conducts rapid needs assessments when required. The officer ensures the preparation and submission of high-quality narrative and quantitative reports, including monthly, SiTrip, and donor-required submissions, while maintaining data accuracy and adherence to recording systems such as beneficiary cards and registers. The officer ensures that all WASH, health and nutrition activities meet technical and organizational quality standards. This includes supervising implementation on the ground, monitoring adherence to guidelines, identifying gaps or challenges, and implementing corrective actions as necessary. The officer monitors nutrition stocks, procurement utilization, and service delivery processes in collaboration with supply chain, logistics, and technical teams, ensuring efficiency, accountability, and quality outcomes. The officer participates in zonal and woreda-level coordination meetings and works closely with government health offices, UN agencies, NGOs, and other partners to facilitate smooth implementation of health and nutrition activities. He/she provides timely updates on program progress, technical inputs, and challenges, ensuring alignment with national standards and local coordination mechanisms. The officer represents World Vision Ethiopia during partner and donor field visits and supports information sharing and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
