Business Unit Description      The Finance Business Unit provides financial stewardship, governance, and decision support to enable Kifiya’s sustainable growth and impact at scale. The unit ensures financial integrity, transparency, and compliance while partnering with leadership to allocate resources effectively and support strategic priorities. Finance leads financial planning and analysis, accounting and reporting, treasury and cash management, tax and statutory compliance, and internal controls. Through disciplined execution and data-driven insights, the unit safeguards organizational value and supports Kifiya’s mission to scale inclusive, technology-enabled financial and market infrastructure. Position Summary      The Treasury and Asset Management Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day treasury operations, cash and bank transactions, and liquidity monitoring, while maintaining accurate accounting and control of the company’s fixed assets. The role also supports core accounting operations, including payments, reconciliations, tax preparation, and ERP data entry. This position plays a critical role in ensuring funds availability, accurate financial records, strong internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and organizational policies. Key Responsibilities     Treasury and Cash Management •    Monitor daily cash balances across bank and cash accounts. •    Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts and variance analysis. •    Manage bank accounts, including fund transfers, foreign currency transactions, and bank reconciliations. •    Track bank charges and foreign exchange exposure and recommend cost optimization measures. •    Prepare weekly cash flow and liquidity reports for management review. •    Support the Finance Manager in liquidity planning and short-term funding decisions. •    Ensure timely settlement of loan, overdraft, and other debt service obligations. Payments, Cashier, and Transaction Processing •    Prepare and process all payment disbursements, including cash, bank transfers, and cheques. •    Maintain petty cash operations, ensuring receipts and supporting documentation are complete. •    Prepare periodic cash and petty cash reconciliation statements for review. •    Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, including invoice validation, billing support, and collections posting. •    Record daily financial transactions and journal entries in the ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365). Tax and Compliance Support •    Prepare monthly tax schedules and reports, including VAT, withholding tax, payroll tax, and profit tax, for review by the Finance Manager prior to submission. •    Ensure compliance with IFRS, local tax laws, and internal financial policies. •    Maintain strong internal controls over cash, bank transactions, and fixed assets. Documentation, Reporting, and Audit Support •    Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready documentation for all treasury, asset, and payment transactions. •    Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and explanations. •    Contribute to management dashboards on cash position, liquidity, asset utilization, and depreciation trends. Key Outputs     •    Cash Flow Forecast Accuracy: Variance of no more than 5 percent compared to actuals. •    Bank Reconciliation Timeliness: 100 percent of bank reconciliations completed by Day plus five. •    Liquidity Ratio: Maintained in line with company policy. •    Bank Charges Optimization: Year-on-year reduction in bank charges and transaction costs. •    Debt Service Timeliness: 100 percent of loan and overdraft repayments made on due dates. •    Fixed Asset Register Accuracy: 100 percent of assets properly recorded, tagged, and reconciled. •    Depreciation Timeliness: 100 percent of monthly depreciation entries posted by Day plus three. •    Audit Compliance: Zero audit findings related to treasury or asset management. •    Asset Verification: At least 98 percent of assets verified and matched during periodic checks. •    Transaction Accuracy: At least 98 percent accuracy in ERP postings and reconciliations. •    Tax Compliance: Zero delays in preparation and submission of tax reports.
