Google Cloud Platform Data Solution Architect (AI & GenAI focus) Aurora, IL Contract to Hire About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Google Cloud Platform Data Solution Architect with a strong foundation in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (GenAI). In this role, you will lead complex Digital Data Modernization programs tailored specifically for the R&D or Manufacturing or Supply Chain domain. You will design, architect, and implement scalable data solutions on the Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) while leveraging modern AI/GenAI capabilities to drive operational efficiency, predictive insights, and business value. Key Responsibilities Digital Data Modernization: Lead, execute, and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of large-scale Digital Data Modernization programs, transitioning legacy on-premise or multi-cloud data systems to modern Google Cloud Platform architectures. AI & GenAI Integration: Leverage a strong understanding of AI/ML and Generative AI to design solutions that solve complex domain challenges (e.g., demand forecasting, predictive maintenance, inventory optimization, and intelligent supply chain routing). Domain Leadership: Apply deep R&D lifecycle, Manufacturing and Supply Chain industry knowledge to translate complex business requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions. Technical Delivery & Governance: Establish best practices for data governance, data security, data modeling, and performance optimization on Google Cloud Platform. Stakeholder Management: Collaborate directly with business leaders, product managers, and technical teams to define roadmaps and deliver measurable ROI through data and AI initiatives. Required Qualifications Experience: 15+ years of overall IT experience with a minimum of 4+ years acting as a Data Solution Architect specifically on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). Data Modernization: Proven, hands-on experience executing and managing enterprise-level Digital Data Modernization and cloud migration programs. Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of the R&D or Manufacturing or Supply Chain domains, including familiarity with relevant data structures (ERP, MES, WMS, IoT sensor data, logistics). AI/GenAI Knowledge: Good conceptual and practical understanding of AI, Machine Learning, and GenAI ecosystems. Google Cloud Platform Core Skills: Deep technical expertise in BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, and Vertex AI. Preferred Qualifications Google Cloud Platform Certifications (Professional Data Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect, or Professional Machine Learning Engineer). Experience with streaming data architectures and real-time IoT data processing (common in manufacturing). Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex architectural concepts to non-technical business stakeholders.
