Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the position

We are seeking a Senior Quantity surveyor  with strong mining or engineering experience for a high-profile role in Johannesburg.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee all quantity surveying activities for mining and engineering projects
• Prepare and review cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents
• Monitor project budgets, track costs, and report variances
• Ensure compliance with FIDIC/NEC contracts and contractual obligations
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams to resolve commercial issues
• Provide advice on project risk, cost optimization, and procurement strategies
• Mentor and guide junior QS staff

Requirements:

• BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying
• 10+ years experience as a Mining / Engineering QS
• Preferably PrQS registered
• Strong experience with FIDIC / NEC contracts
• Excellent commercial, analytical, and negotiation skills
• Strong project management and stakeholder communication abilities
• Ability to work independently and under pressure on complex projects
