Truck Driver (Beverage Distribution)

Department : Logistics Reporting to: Manager / Cashier Location: Mpigi (Regional delivery) Overall Purpose To ensure the safe, timely, and fuel-efficient delivery of inventory across the Mpigi and Kampala regions while maintaining the company’s most expensive mobile assets. Key Responsibilities Operations & Route Optimization Plan daily routes to minimize fuel consumption and reduce turnaround time between Mpigi and Kampala. Execute deliveries strictly according to the scheduled route and invoice specifications. Asset Management Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections; maintain the tool kit, spare tires, and overall cleanliness of the truck cabin and cargo area. Report any mechanical issues immediately to management. Documentation & Compliance Ensure every crate leaving the warehouse is accompanied by a signed delivery note. Reconcile empties (returned glass bottles) against the delivery manifest. Adhere strictly to speed limits and weight-loading capacities to avoid fines and mechanical strain. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Safety: Zero transit breakages or traffic fines. Reliability: 100% on-time delivery rate. Efficiency: Consistency between planned fuel consumption logs and actual usage.
