Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented freelancer to support a short-term project focused on trade media research and outreach for an upcoming international B2B industry event taking place in Santiago, Chile (September 2026).

The event targets industry professionals across South America, including distributors, retailers, importers and decision-makers within a regulated product category.

The objective of this role is to help build a highly relevant trade media landscape and identify opportunities to reach this audience through industry-specific channels.

Scope of Work

  1. Trade Media Mapping

Identify and curate a list of relevant industry media and communication channels across selected South American markets, including:

  • Trade magazines (online and print)

  • Industry-specific portals and websites

  • Niche B2B publications

  • Newsletters targeting retail, distribution and FMCG sectors

  • Industry associations and networks

The focus should be on platforms that reach:

  • Distributors

  • Retail buyers

  • Importers / wholesalers

  • Category managers

  • Industry decision-makers

  1. Media Qualification & Structuring

For each identified outlet, collect and organise the following:

  • Media / outlet name

  • Website URL

  • Country / regional coverage

  • Audience relevance (why this outlet is a good fit)

  • Type of platform (magazine, portal, newsletter, association, etc.)

  • Available formats (if visible):

  • Sponsored content

  • Newsletter placements

  • Display / banner ads

  • Media partnerships

  • Contact details (commercial/editorial where available)

  • Media kit availability (if accessible)

  • Notes and observations

All information must be delivered in a structured spreadsheet (Google Sheets or Airtable).

  1. Media Shortlisting & Prioritisation

From the full list, identify and clearly flag:

  • High-priority outlets

  • Medium-priority outlets

  • Lower-priority / exploratory

Based on:

  • audience relevance

  • geographic alignment

  • perceived influence within the sector

  • potential for partnership or placement

  1. Outreach Support (Optional / Nice to Have)

Support initial outreach to selected media partners, including:

  • Drafting and sending initial emails

  • Requesting media kits and partnership opportunities

  • Tracking responses and updating status

  • Organising opportunities into a clear pipeline

Note: This is not a full PR or media buying role — the focus is on initial outreach and structured coordination.

Requirements

  • Experience with B2B research, media research or lead generation

  • Strong ability to identify and qualify relevant industry media

  • Experience working with structured datasets / spreadsheets

Familiarity with tools such as:

  • LinkedIn

  • Google Search

  • Apollo / Hunter or similar tools

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Fluent English required

  • Spanish and/or Portuguese is a strong advantage

Project Details

  • Duration: 1–2 weeks

  • Remote

  • Deliverables: Google Sheets or Airtable

  • Markets: South America (Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Paraguay)

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Latin American markets

  • Experience with trade media, PR research or media planning

  • Understanding of B2B or event marketing

  • Experience with regulated industries (optional but valuable)
