Data Engineer
by design Engineer / Senior data professional
At the GTT Digital Operations Department we are safeguarding quality, compliance, and enhancing data availability and ease of use. We leverage digital technologies to empower our organization with data-driven insights and strategies, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility.
In the Data Governance and Data Compliance team, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior data professional to join our dynamic team. The team works with different data regulations such as, EU Data Act and EU AI Act as well as various Data Governance topics. This role is critical in ensuring the organization’s adherence to data protection regulations and in fostering a culture of and accountability across all business functions. You have a proven record of driving successful change initiatives and are skilled in stakeholder management across organizational levels. Practical experience in Data tools is considered a merit. Fluency in English is essential.
Key responsibilities
Drive investigations and initiatives as needed to facilitate, promote and protect Volvo Group data and data sharing. Monitor and evaluate compliance with applicable data protection laws and internal policies, including but not limited to the General Data Protection Regulation (). Collaborate with R&D to analyse and implement by design guidelines and requirements for new engineering projects Evaluate existing by design principles and requirements in engineering projects to improve or upgrade Volvo products Review and complete by design risk assessments that are engineering projects requiring a by design approval Further strengthen the data framework and capability within GTT by driving activities in the GTT Data roadmap. Stay informed of developments in global legislation and regulatory expectations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Security, Data Governance, or a related field. Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in, by design, data protection, or compliance roles. Strong working knowledge of and other relevant frameworks. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Preferred: 2-3 years of knowledge within the field of by design
