Group Description

Visibility Hardware Group is a design team within the Cabin Engineering Department of Vehicle Engineering, GTT Bangalore. We are responsible for the design and development of components such as Mirror Systems, Wiper & Washing Systems, and Lamps & Signalling Lights for various global brands under the Volvo Group.

Thanks to a unique mix of competencies, several team members hold global responsibilities in their respective domains and actively contribute to company-wide module teams to align technical specifications, improve quality, and deliver value across all truck brands.

We are currently looking for an Associate Engineer with knowledge in SIPD 3 product development, who is eager to join our renowned organization and contribute to creating world-class products

Scope of Work

The Associate Engineer plays a key role in executing operational tasks to ensure cross-functionally anchored concepts and technical solutions meet the defined QDCF (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature) targets.

This role spans the entire product development cycle, from advanced engineering and concept development to detailed design, industrialization, and product maintenance. Deliverables are structured around defined Gates, Releases, and Design Loops.

Core Responsibilities

Design and development of Visibility Hardware SIPD 3 components Work independently or in small teams to secure high-quality deliverables Actively contribute to project execution and meet timelines Integrate inputs from various teams and ensure completeness before release Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and deliver accordingly Lead or contribute to projects involving Lamps & Signalling components Communicate design and project needs to external partners when required Ensure technical accuracy and completeness of design documentation

Education

BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech/MS in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Automobile Engineering

Experience, Tools & Domain Skills

2–3 years of automotive experience (preferably truck industry) Proficient in CATIA, Creo, and PDM tools Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals Experience in SIPD 3 lighting component design and development Basic knowledge of mechatronics, plastics, and sheet metal Familiarity with lighting & signalling components and architectures Awareness of material selection and associated trade-offs Exposure to quality tools: DFA, DFAM, DFMEA Understanding of the product development lifecycle is a plus
