Description
For our client we are looking for a Group Accountant. Primary purpose of this role? The Group Accountant plays a key role in the preparation of timely and accurate consolidated financial reporting in our clients organization. As part of the Group Accounting team, you will support monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality financial data to internal and external stakeholders, including for SEC filings with Nasdaq in New York. You will ensure consistent application of accounting principles across the Group and assist with financial analysis, adjustments, and reporting processes. This role is based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Key responsibilities:
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual group closing processes, including preparation and validation of consolidation entries
- Collaborate with subsidiaries and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial submissions
- Perform financial analysis and prepare supporting documentation for internal and external reporting
- Assist in the preparation of external IFRS financial reports, including notes and disclosures for quarterly and annual filings
- Maintain consolidation system data and ensure consistency and accuracy across group entities
- Contribute to the development and documentation of group accounting policies and processes
- Participate in projects related to group accounting, reporting improvements, and system enhancements
- Coordinate with auditors and assist in delivering required audit evidence and explanations
- Proactively identify and suggest improvements to group accounting procedures and controls Competences, specific education and/or work experience that is relevant to the role:
- A university degree in Business Administration (major in finance or accounting) or equivalent
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in finance, preferably within a global corporate accounting function or from an audit firm
- Solid understanding of IFRS accounting standards and familiarity with group consolidation principles
- Experience in preparing financial reports and working with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Proficiency in Excel for financial analysis and reporting tasks
- Experience working with consolidation systems; AARO experience is a strong advantage
- Exposure to SOX compliance and reporting requirements for U.S.-listed companies is a plus
- Fluency in English for both written and spoken communication Interfaces & Stakeholders:
- Group Accounting Team Lead and fellow team members
- Cross-functional collaboration with Controlling, FP&A, Treasury, and Technical Accounting
- Communication with regional finance teams and local accounting contacts across global subsidiaries
- External auditors, primarily during quarterly reviews and year-end audit processes Level of Complexity: Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
