Description

For our client Volvo Cars we are looking for a Vehicle Dynamics Engineer. DescriptionOur Vehicle Dynamics Industrialization Team is responsible for all industrialization, verification, and support activities related to dynamic attributes. We perform physical testing on prototype vehicles, carry out subjective and objective evaluations of ride, handling, and steering, and work closely with attribute and design teams. This creates a dynamic, collaborative environment with a direct and meaningful impact on the future of Volvo Cars.You will play a central role in developing the driving experience of future Volvo vehicles. You will plan and execute physical development activities on prototype vehicles, perform deep analysis of results, and provide clear, data driven recommendations for design changes. Your expertise will directly shape how our cars feel on the road—ensuring they meet Volvo’s high standards in ride comfort, steering feel, and handling precision.Main responsibilities•Plan, prepare, and conduct physical testing on prototype vehicles.•Perform both subjective and objective evaluations of ride, steering, and handling.•Analyze test results, identify root causes, and provide recommendations that balance attribute performance, effort and cost.•Collaborate closely with attribute teams, chassis design, CAE, controls, and program teams.•Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders across R&D.•Contribute to the continuous development of methods, tools, and processes within Vehicle Dynamics.Required qualifications•Several years of experience working with Vehicle Dynamics development as well as experience analyzing data from ride & handling tests, steering evaluations and dynamic maneuvers.•Proven capability in physical vehicle testing, including subjective and objective evaluations.•Solid understanding of chassis systems, suspension kinematics & compliance, steering systems, tires, and vehicle behavior fundamentals.•Experience collaborating with CAE teams and understanding simulation results.•Ability to translate complex test data into clear, actionable recommendations.•Strong presentation and communication skills for cross functional stakeholders.•MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Applied Physics, Mechatronics, or equivalent.•Fluent in English (spoken and written).•Driver’s license and Documented driving skills, such as test track license etc.Personal qualities:•Strong problem solving and analytical thinking.•Proactive, structured, and able to work independently.•Team oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across functions.•Genuine passion for creating an exceptional driving experience.DescriptionOur Vehicle Dynamics Industrialization Team is responsible for all industrialization, verification, and support activities related to dynamic attributes.
