Swedish is merited.Assignment OverviewScania is looking for a Senior Consultant with strong project management expertise to lead and coordinate phase-out projects within the powertrain domain, focusing on engine and gearbox platforms.The assignment involves managing the structured decommissioning of components and systems as part of Scania’s lifecycle management of powertrain technologies. These phase-out initiatives are complex programs that require close collaboration across multiple functions, including R&D, Production & Logistics, Purchasing, Aftermarket and Finance.The consultant will ensure that phase-out activities are executed in a controlled and structured way while safeguarding business continuity, industrial readiness and long-term aftermarket commitments.Key aspects of the assignment include:• Coordinating the technical and operational phase-out of powertrain components and systems• Ensuring industrial readiness and supply continuity during the transition period• Managing risks related to production, service commitments and spare parts obligations• Driving alignment across several functions and stakeholders within Scania’s organizationA critical objective of the role is to ensure that phase-out programs are executed with high transparency, strong governance and minimal disruption to operations and customer commitments.ResponsibilitiesThe consultant will take ownership of the overall project management of powertrain phase-out initiatives, including:• Leading and coordinating phase-out projects related to engine and gearbox platforms• Establishing and maintaining structured project plans, timelines and milestones• Managing risk identification, mitigation planning and deviation handling• Coordinating cross-functional stakeholders across R&D, Production & Logistics, Purchasing, Aftermarket and Finance• Ensuring that industrial and operational readiness is secured during the phase-out process• Preparing decision material and status updates for steering committees• Driving alignment between technical, operational and financial stakeholders• Ensuring a structured handover to Product Maintenance (Red Arrow) once phase-out activities are completed• Contributing to transparent communication and strong governance throughout the project lifecycleRequired CompetenceProject Management• Extensive experience as a Senior Project Manager within product development / R&D environments• Proven ability to manage complex cross-functional projects• Strong experience working with structured project governance and milestone management• Experience managing technical lifecycle or phase-out programsTechnical & Industrial Context• Experience working within complex technical systems, preferably within powertrain or similar engineering domains• Understanding of product lifecycle management and technology phase-out processes• Experience coordinating stakeholders across engineering, production and business functionsRisk & Stakeholder Management• Strong competence within risk management and mitigation planning• Ability to manage cross-functional coordination across large organizations• Experience preparing decision support material for steering groups and senior stakeholdersMeritorious Experience:• Experience from industrialization or manufacturing environments• Experience working with production, supply chain or aftermarket operations• Previous experience within automotive or heavy vehicle industry• Experience working with powertrain systems (engines, transmissions)• Previous experience within Scania or TRATON GroupPersonal Profile
