Embedded Linux OS Developer

We are now looking for an Embedded Linux OS Developer on the behalf of our client, Sony. Role:Embedded Linux OS Development for IoT Gateway.Project Overview: We are seeking an experienced embedded Linux consultant to join our team in developing a new sensor gateway platform. The gateway will be deployed at customer premises with Ethernet or 4G/5G connectivity, requiring high resilience, remote update capabilities, and remote management functionality.Key Responsibilities:Develop and configure a Yocto-based embedded Linux OS for the target hardwareImplement remote update functionality and integrate with our remote update infrastructureDesign and implement remote management capabilitiesDevelop gateway/proxy functionality for sensor remote updatesPerform bring-up of existing sensor communication software (sub-GHz via serial USB) on new hardwareCollaborate with device software team on communication protocol implementation Support integration of Python-based applications from current gateway platformRequired Competencies (in priority order):Yocto/Embedded Linux expertise - Deep experience with Yocto Project for building custom embedded Linux distributionsRemote update/management systems

• Experience with remote update frameworks preferredIoT gateway architecture - Proven experience deg and implementing industrial IoT gateway solutionsAdditional Technical ContextApplications are primarily Python-based with possibility for other languages where appropriateGateway must support resilient operation in industrial customer environmentsStart: Spring 2026Duration: Spring 2026 project timelineExtension: Might be possible.
