For our client, we are looking for a Interior Lighting Designer:Assignment Overview A visionary Creative Lighting Designer to help shape the next chapter of in-car experiences. From subtle moods to expressive interactive moments, you will turn light into emotion, character, and storytelling—crafting the visual language that drivers feel as much as they see. You'll collaborate closely with Interior Design, CMF, UX, and Engineering to imagine, prototype, and bring to life lighting innovations that push boundaries while meeting real-world performance and regulatory needs. About the Role As a Creative Lighting Designer, you will define the interior lighting vision for vehicle deg ambient, functional, and communicative lighting that seamlessly blends aesthetics, technology, and brand DNA. Your work will merge artistry with engineering, transforming raw ideas into simulations, prototypes, and production feasible solutions.What You'll Bring A bachelor's degree (or higher) in Industrial/Product/Transportation Design, Interaction/Lighting Design, or a related field. Real-world experience in automotive, architectural, or consumer lighting, backed by a portfolio that shows both imagination and execution. Flexible tool pipeline such as Photoshop, Blender, and Adobe Creative Suite for concepting and visualization. A track record of turning lighting concepts into manufacturable, engineering-aligned solutions. Excellent communication and presentation skills—your storytelling shines through both visuals and words. A maker mindset: hands-on prototyping skills, basic electronics knowledge, and curiosity to explore. Familiarity with automotive lighting regulations and constraints (a major plus). A creative, fast-thinking, problem-solving approach that thrives in a high-energy studio environment. Bonus: Interest or experience with other digital pipelines (e.g., Grasshopper). What You'll Do Deterior lighting concepts spanning ambient, functional, and communicative use cases. Propose innovative integrations of light into surfaces, materials, and architectural forms. Convert brand DNA into distinctive lighting signatures and dynamic behaviors (welcome/farewell actions, charging animations, thematic moods, ADAS signals). Validate feasibility through visualization, simulation, and VR tools. Create compelling presentations and prototypes that bring stakeholders and suppliers along the journey. Nice to Have Experience with cutting-edge lighting technologies such as OLEDs, projection/DLP, AR overlays, and interactive surfaces. Knowledge of optics, light guides, interior human-factors, luminance planning, and glare management. Previous work in automotive design studios or with Tier-1 suppliers. Expertise in material-light interaction in interiors. Additional Details The role is based in the Gothenburg studio—office-first with some WFH flexibility. Occasional travel to China may be required. Fluency in spoken and written English is essential. A valid driver's license is preferred.We offer continuously. That means that we sometimes remove the assignments before deadline.
