Your role

We are now looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our Hamburg office, with a solid background in the energy industry. In this role, you will lead complex analysis initiatives, work closely with senior stakeholders, and translate strategic goals into measurable business value across trading, assets, and operations.

You are successful when you are seen as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders — someone who can turn complex and ambiguous challenges into clear decisions, structured requirements, and outcomes that are actually implemented.

You proactively shape initiatives rather than only supporting them, ensuring that strategy is translated into tangible results.

Your responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Lead end-to-end business analysis initiatives and present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders
• Drive problem and opportunity analyses, including root cause identification and development of target operating models
• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to align business and IT perspectives
• Translate business needs into clear, structured, and solution-agnostic business requirements
• Collaborate with Solution Architects and Product Owners to define and refine solution requirements
• Manage requirements throughout their full lifecycle: prioritisation, validation, change impact assessment, traceability, and acceptance
• Support larger initiatives and tenders by structuring requirements and evaluating solution options
• Contribute to continuous improvement of tools, methods, and ways of working within BA Markets

Qualifications

Your profile

We believe you bring:

• 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in complex environments
• Proven experience within the energy industry (e.g. utilities, energy trading, commodities, market operations)
• Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills, with confidence working with senior leadership
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to challenge the status quo constructively
• Ability to conduct independent research and translate findings into value-driven recommendations
• A structured mindset and the ability to move from ambiguity to clarity, producing decision-ready material
• Confidence working across business and IT in large, cross-functional initiatives
